About Me
-
Describe Yourself:I am my kids' dad and my wife's husband. Christian, conservative, Southern. Fan of football but not basketball, Public Radio, NASCAR, Alternative Energy, Garrison Keillor, and Rush Limbaugh. How's that for a paradox....? Tend toward Libertarian at times. Love good books and good art and good music, but will make do with whatever is around in any of those fields in a pinch. Wish I was a better poet and had more time to play in my woodshop.
-
On Gather, I'm Looking For ...:Writing critique, inspiration, and support. Good discussion on any topic. The occasional recipe. Encouragement to write the great American novel. Inspiration to write more poetry and work more wood, carve more, and take more pictures.
Hey, I don't want much, do I?!?

Marilyn (PaintsOnSlate) S., Jan 7, 2009, 7:07AM ESTThanks Robert for the reminder. I will be making my Greek spinach pie for the Orthodox Christmas celebration and will make and photograph the dessert too - hopefully I will post it by early next week (or sooner)

Marilyn (PaintsOnSlate) S., Dec 6, 2008, 9:56AM ESTThanks for letting me know about your woodcarvers group. I joined one last year and when I looked at it he didn't accept any of my work - it was his own private show and tell - no other's work allowed. I think I removed my work from my photos but will look. When I carved it was primitive folk art.
